And why do you have to hit them? Well, the context of this discussion is how you get your kids to willingly fast and pray durning Ramadan. However, it's pretty clear that at least as far as Sasjamal is concerned, hitting the children is the preferred, the efficient, in fact it is the "proficient" method of instructing children.

To their credit, not all the denizens of islamicnetwork.com agree with Sasjamal, but it is his site, and he sets the tone, if not the agenda.

To the best of our knowledge Sasjamal does not have children of his own, but he does have access to his wife's children from a previous marriage.
